Documentary Wedding Photographers – Wedding by Paul & Elaine
Basil and Deirdre’s wedding was everything you could hope for in a day to document. The weather was beautiful, the sea looked inviting and the lads went for a swim in the morning. The girls got ready at the Haven hotel and after the morning prep the ceremony was held outside in the front of the hotel with the sea as the backdrop. Although the weather was perfect for most of the day, during the ceremony a few dark clouds crept in and it actually started to rain. Everyone ran for cover but the music still played it was like a scene from Titanic, the string quartet playing despite the frantic running and rushing for cover.
Basil himself is a fantastic photographer and filmmaker/visual artist so the pressure always feels a little on working for someone so skilled. But during the couple portraits and really throughout the day there was very much a feeling of ease and trust. Most of the day was spent outdoors at the front of the hotel overlooking the sea where the reception was held and the speeches followed just before dinner. Dancing followed later back inside the hotel. The day was shared with our good mate and brilliant cinematographer Rodolphe from Best day and that just made it all the better.
